Grenco's first South African Premises

The first Managing Director of the company was Bill Hope and one of the earliest installations was for Braam's Meat at the Cape Town Foreshore. Around this time the fishing industry was thriving and Irvin & Johnson was one of our first clients. Together with Grenco's parent company, a fleet of twelve trawlers were installed with refrigeration. With its head office situated in Cape Town, GEA Grenco Africa has branches in Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit, Richards Bay, George, Boland, Newcastle, Worcester, Polokwane and, most recently, in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. Grenco Africa has an annual turnover in excess of R300 million and has a total work force of approximately 220 personnel.
